The Ultimate Guide to Streaming With MED-EL Devices

In 2023, there are more ways than ever to stream sound to your MED-EL audio processor. We’ve got AudioStream and AudioLink for our cochlear implant users, and SAMBA 2 GO for BONEBRIDGE and VIBRANT SOUNDBRIDGE recipients.

But with so many choices, it can sometimes be tricky knowing which one to go for. With that in mind, we’ve put together a guide to the best streaming options for everything from hearing aids to phone calls.

Best for Music and Phone Calls: AudioStream

Man makes phone call with AudioStreamIf you want to stream music or calls directly to your ear, AudioStream is the answer. This cover slips over the battery pack of your SONNET or SONNET 2 audio processors for direct streaming using Bluetooth® Low Energy. There are no wires and no extra devices. Just high-quality sound in true stereo.

Best for Bimodal (Hearing Aids): AudioStream

AudioStream has another trick up its sleeve: Bimodal streaming. That means that if you use a hearing aid on one ear, and a SONNET or SONNET 2 on the other, you can send sound to both your ears at the same time. You’ll need a hearing aid that also supports audio streaming, along with an Android 12 phone or later. Here’s a list of tried and tested devices that support bimodal streaming.
