Remote Care With the HearCare MED-EL App
Are long trips to the clinic for a simple fitting adjustment a hassle? Have you ever lost or damaged your cochlear implant audio processor and had to deal with hearing downtime? Do you wish there were a simple way for you to check whether your implant and audio processor are working properly from the comfort of your own home? Enter the HearCare MED-EL app.
With the HearCare MED-EL app, hearing care is closer than ever before. If you are a SONNET 3, SONNET 3 EAS, SONNET 2, SONNET 2 EAS, or RONDO 3 user, this app is here for you.
Remote Care and Fitting
Accessing updated programming from your clinician without the need to book an appointment and travel to the clinic means you can hear your best sooner. Hearing your best can lead to easier everyday communication, faster rehabilitation progress, and improved hearing in noisy social settings.
And there’s no need to take time off work or travel for another appointment.
“I received a new configuration on the HearCare MED-EL app and it has never been easier. It took just a couple of minutes to download the app, log in, and find the alert that I had a new configuration for my processor. The fact that I didn't have to drive to my clinic, find parking, and wait in a waiting room saved me so much time in my day. I got to download the new configuration in the comfort of my own home. Using Remote Care was so beneficial for me and was a convenient way to get new programming without the hassle of an extra visit to the clinic.”

Configuration Backup
This app also minimizes hearing downtime, which is essential for communication and participation in everyday life. Replacements and loans are inevitable—especially with children. But with HearCare MED-EL, you can easily install your last processor configuration to a replacement or loaner device and get back to hearing faster.
System Checks
With the live microphone check, you can see at a glance whether your microphones are working properly—or whether it might be time to switch out your microphone covers. This feature lets you check whether your implant and audio processor are working correctly without visiting your clinician. Easy-to-understand messages, along with color-coded symbols, let you know whether your device is working properly—or what to do if there is an issue.
Clinic Management
Your audiologist can send you new configurations and notifications when they would like you to perform a system check or create a configuration backup. All you need to do beforehand is accept their clinic request with the press of a button. And you can easily remove clinics if you switch to a new one.
Guardian Roles
If you are a caregiver, you can perform system checks regularly to ensure the processors of your child or other person you care for are working correctly. This is especially helpful with very young children who may not yet be able to tell you when there is an issue with their hearing. This gives you peace of mind that your child is hearing well.
