Nine Hearing Hacks for Your RONDO 3 Audio Processor
Packed into one compact unit, RONDO 3 might just be the simplest audio processor around. But it still has a few tricks up its sleeve. These nine hearing hacks will help you get the most out of your RONDO 3 audio processor.
1. RONDO 3’s Light Patterns Explained
One of RONDO 3’s handiest features is its lights. Using different colors and patterns, they tell you exactly what’s going on, from program changes to different modes. This hearing hack shows all the most important light patterns.
2. Know the Battery Status in Seconds
RONDO 3’s battery is charged wirelessly and designed to last all day. But for extra peace of mind, just turn RONDO 3 on and look at the light patterns to see roughly how much power is left. Or for an exact percentage, head to the AudioKey 2 app.
4. Power Up on the Go
It happens to the best of us: after a long day, we forget to charge our device and wake up to an empty battery. Enter the RONDO 3 charging cable. Just use it to connect RONDO 3 to a portable power bank for energy on the go.
5. Charge It Right
We love that you can charge RONDO 3 wirelessly using a charging pad. But are you doing it right? To make sure it charges correctly, RONDO 3 should be in the center of the charging pad with the MED-EL logo facing upwards. The orange indicator light shows that RONDO 3 is charging. The light will turn off once RONDO 3 is fully charged, which takes 2.5 to 4 hours.
6. Mic Check
There’s a quick and easy way to know if your RONDO 3’s microphones are working. Simply place RONDO 3 on top of the FineTuner Echo and start speaking. If you see a green light flickering to the rhythm of your voice on the FineTuner Echo, that means the microphones are working correctly.
7. Change It Up
RONDO 3 comes with over 30 different cover options—including discreet ones that match your hair and bright ones made for kids. But changing them has an added bonus: it helps keep your hearing at an optimal level. In fact, you should change your microphone cover every three months for the best results. 9. Instant Waterproofing
RONDO 3 is built to handle rain, sweat, and everyday splashes. But you can also make it 100% waterproof with WaterWear. To make sure the cover works correctly, there shouldn’t be any wrinkles, air bubbles, or gaps between the strip and the cover. Once WaterWear is on, you can swim to your heart’s content!

I have a Rondo 3 and am getting ready for a five day off-grid hiking trip. I plan to use a battery bank to keep my processor and HA charged. should I use the air charger or the cable? How long will a 10000 mAh last as the charge source?

Hi Karl, thanks for reaching out. We recommend to use the USB charger for power efficiency. The 10.000 mAh powerbank will last approximately for 7 of charging cycles which should be enough for your five day hiking trip. Kind regards, Gordana
