What Do the First Users Think of SONNET 3?
In September, we launched our latest behind-the-ear cochlear implant audio processor: SONNET 3. Some users have already gotten to test it out and let us know what they think.
Nine users ages 13 to 75 got to test out SONNET 3. All nine agreed that SONNET 3 enables them to live more independent lives. SONNET 3 offers users flexibility and freedom in their daily hearing.

Excellent Wearing Comfort
Thanks to its lighter design and flexible earhook, you may even forget you’re wearing SONNET 3. And extra comfort and security means more peace of mind.
The users were very happy with the new, flexible earhook—it’s comfortable and they can rely on it to stay securely in the desired position—one user even said that with the flexible earhook, their audio processor hasn’t slipped a single time.
All participants agreed that SONNET 3 is comfortable to wear and doesn’t feel heavy on the ear—they’re fans of the new earhook.
Simple Handling
It’s important to be able to change your audio processor’s microphone cover and batteries with ease so you can hear your best every waking moment.
Changing the microphone cover is simple, according to most of the participants, and they all strongly agreed that they were able to take SONNET 3 apart and put it back together again.
Innovative Touch Key
Being able to change programs—or switch your audio processor into standby mode—with a simple tap is one of SONNET 3’s most innovative new features.
For some users, getting used to the touch key was a bit of a challenge. But for others, it was a real “gamechanger” since it responds easily, which enables them to change their hearing environment quickly.
Sometimes I felt like I wasn’t even deaf. My hearing was great—like it is in my healthy ear.
Top Hearing With Direct Streaming
Most people can’t even imagine life without their smartphone. And with SONNET 3, staying connected to smartphones and other devices is easier than ever before.
All nine users were satisfied with the connectivity options available for SONNET 3 and said it was easy to pair SONNET 3 with their smartphone for direct streaming. They all agreed that they could make phone calls with confidence and ease, and music sounded natural/good to them with SONNET 3.
I’d never before heard music as clearly as I do with SONNET 3!

Doing sports can make you sweat. A lot. Even in these sticky situations, all participants said that SONNET 3 functions reliably. And even after coming into contact with water multiple times, SONNET 3 worked for them without any disruptions.

The SONNET 3 also has an enhanced noise reduction feature which I found amazing. On a windy day when I go for a walk..., any disruptions and noises are very well reduced.

I applied for 'the swap' many weeks ago. Does this mean that my Sonnet 3 is on the way??? Please respond tho this email with at least an approximate date as to when I will receive it.

I Sure would like to upgrade from Sonnet 2 ASAP! I was Implanted Aug 15 just before the Deadline. Currently, I mostly use the Rondo3 which I find more comfortable but do swap w the Sonnet 2 part of the time. The new model sounds easier to use and has Integrated connectivity to the World. Hope some way to upgrade soon - for some charge. Chuck Branson

Good morning, I am a Sonnet 2 user since September 2023. After using hearing aids in both ears since I was 40 years old I changed to a cochlear implant when my right ear became completely deaf, it changed my life. After reading the review of one of the Sonnet3 users I think upgrade to Sonnet3 would be a major improvement. The only problems I have had with Sonnet2 since I’ve been using it are (1) Keeping it on my ear. Working with Fiona Stanley Hospital Audiologists I have had a mold made that fits in my ear and helps retain the processor, it has improved the situation but it does make it more uncomfortable. I think the flexible ear hook would fix my problem. (2) I have had FSH clinic install 4 programs in my processor and each one is for a different situation these have evolved over the past two years and by switching them over regularly I can improve my hearing to suit situation. As a daily walker of our dog on the beach , control of the background of wind and waves would make me able to socialise with other beach goers and hear what the conversation is about. I am very happy to have the Sonnet 2, it is a game changer but I think that the upgraded Sonnet 3 would be a huge step in the right direction.
